In all honesty, due to the necessary injector replacement, not a huge amount of progress has taken place in August. Once we receive the injectors, we can recommence on our next steam test. Sadly the workshop undertaking these works are popular, and the injectors will likely be received at some point in October.
What did take place was the insulation being re-applied at the front of the firebox of the locomotive. New gaskets were made to improve the joints on both steam pipes. Throughout the month, all the joints of the main steam pipe were remade with the new gaskets being fitted and correct torquing up of the nuts and bolts being undertaken.
After pressure testing at Richard Vincents yard at Henstridge, the clack valves were collected and later installed on the locomotive.
We received a Bill Trites ash wagon from swanage Railway, which we intend to restore and use, perhaps to store coal.
