We’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of our injector, which has been promised to us by the end of the year. Progress on 30075 has slowed considerably during this time, so the team has shifted focus to restoring a wagon that arrived at the end of the summer.
Recent work has centred on de-rusting the frames of this eight-plank (ex-ash) wagon using chipping hammers, an angle grinder, and our “new” needle gun, which features a highly effective chisel attachment.
At midday on Wednesday, New Year’s Day, we’ll be taking part in the National Heritage Railways whistle-sounding event to mark 200 years since the dawn of railways. We’ll be using the whistle from 30076, powered by our air compressor, to join the celebration.
We were also featured in some fantastic coverage on the Bournemouth Echo and BBC News websites:
We’re expecting the first half of 2025 to be substantially more exciting than the second half of 2024. A huge thank you to all our volunteers for the incredible progress we’ve made this year—and to you for your ongoing interest and support.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!
